Reach Everest Base Camp and return to Gorak Shep. Follow the glacier-side approach to the trekking viewpoint at base camp. Expedition tents and camp activity vary with the season; this is a trek visit rather than entry into an expedition camp.
Early ascent to Kala Patthar and descend. Descend to this lower village for the night after the high point of the route. The change of pace gives time to rest before the return walk.
Long descent to Namche. The trail leads to the main Sherpa town of the Khumbu. Leave time to rest after the climb into the village and check the next stage with your guide.
Finish the trek. Return to the trail’s air gateway and prepare your bags for the flight. The flight schedule remains dependent on mountain weather.
